I love ring-tailed lemurs (and all lemurs).  This particular picture was taken at the San Francisco Zoo, and the lemur exhibit is probably one of the nicer animal enclosures that can be found at the zoo (there are several types of lemurs in the enclosure).

If I am fortunate enough to go to Madagascar one day, I will be going because of the lemurs.

One of my favorite exhibits at the Singapore Zoo is a walk-in aviary that they have. While aviary would seem to mean “birds”, the aviary at Singapore Zoo has a host of birds and other animals, so you will find many smaller mammals inside of the exhibit as well ( a baby lemur kept attacking my shorts).

I caught this sloth doing what they do best…sleeping!

This meerkat looks pretty mean in this picture. I caught this meerkat when it was yawning & the image came across like it was some kind of psycho about to kill me.

Looks like they found that the origin of Komodo Dragons has been found to be Australia, not Indonesia as many may have thought.

I remember reading a Douglas Adams’ book called Last Chance to See, in which he claimed that the Komodo Dragon had the worst breath that would probably kill you.

This picture of a Jaguar was modified using Picnik from this original here. As you can see from the original, the glass of the cage put some strange aberrations in the photo that couldn’t be easily corrected with any of the tools I had at my disposal (I don’t use Photoshop because I haven’t had the time to really learn it). I used Picnik to change the color to black & white, played around with the contrast a little bit, and then went for a focal zoom effect on Picnik to create some “movement” in the picture.

Out of all of the animals in the animal kingdom, I have a special place in my heart for all members of the Big Cat family. Lions are interesting to me because they’re more of a social group than other members of the cat family, something that is fairly unusual (Tigers, for example, are pretty much solitary animals once they mature).
